Job description
Duties may vary from time to time. Must be able to drive 18 Wheelers and Freightliner Semi-Trucks pulling Hopper Bottom trailers with grain, to gin, off farm. Must be able to plant with 1990 Air Drill and 1720 Stackfoled JD Planters. Drive, operate, attach or use the following farming equipment and tools to till soil, plant, cultivate and harvest grain crops: cotton, corn, rice and soybeans: 5670 and 9770 (John Deere) Self –Propelled Combine, 7120 Case Combine, 8410 JD Tractor, 8320 JD Tractor, 8345R JD Tractor, 8285R JD Tractor, 8200 JD Tractor, Forklift, Tele handler, Case 580K Backhoe, Trackhoe, Crane, Lift Truck, Fuel Truck, 1 Ton Truck, 2 Ton Bob Truck, Pickup Truck, ATV side by side, Bulldozer, Cutter, Lathe, Disk (John Deere), Chisel Plow, Air Seeder, 3 pt. Drill, DMI Field Cultivators, Kelley Tools, Dirt Buggy, Roller, Mower, 3 pt. Blade, Brent Grain Carts, Roll-A-Cone, Multi Grater, Welder, Torch, Apache 4710 (John Deere) Sprayers, Trimble Guidance Systems and JD Auto Trak Systems. Workers will be required to perform routine maintenance and repairs. Workers will exam and listen to machines, motors, gasoline/diesel engines and equipment for operational defects. Workers will dismantle, repair or replace defective units/parts, using hand tools and shop tools. Workers will replace components, such as carburetors, fuel pumps, generators, ignitions points, and spark plugs. Reassemble, adjust, and lubricate machines and equipment to ensure efficient operation. May install, repair, and wire motors to maintain electrical systems. Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by the supervisor.
Special Requirements
Minimum of three (3) months experience as an agricultural equipment operator, preferably with diesel mechanic skills and CDL license. Employer may conduct background checks on all new applicants for employment at employers expense. Employer may conduct Drug Screen (Owners Expense). Workers should come prepared wearing appropriate clothing and footwear for the environmental and working conditions described. Cell phone can only be used during breaks, emergencies, and communicated with supervisor when needed. All tools, supplies and equipment will be provided at no cost to the workers. Workers must not have any physical limitations that would prevent them from performing duties of job, with or without reasonable accommodation. Work is performed in extreme heat and cold. Workers may stand in one place for long periods of time and must be able to climb, stand, sit, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, bend (from the waist), push, pull, reach, and lift while performing their required job
