Job description

Workers will be required to perform a variety of duties found in SOC Code 45-2092 Farmworkers and Laborers, Crop, Nursery, and Greenhouse such as: Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops such as working with bins and augers to load carts and trailers; Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment including using material like metal, wood, plastic and both hand and power tools; Set up, repair, maintain, and operate irrigation equipment such as pipes and well motors, puncture pipe at set intervals, remove pipe from fields, maintain appropriate water levels; Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery (much of which is equipped with GPS) such as PTO ditchers, backhoes, excavators, mowers, turn row drags, hipper choppers, rollers, mulch finishers, plows, sprayers, grain carts, combines, cultivators to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops; Load agricultural products into trucks, and drive to storage facilities such as elevators, bins, silos, bags/piles in close proximity to the farm; Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping including irrigation wells; Haul and spread topsoil, fertilizer, and other materials to condition soil; Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; Mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery; Attach implements using hand tools; Climb vertical ladders; Enter grain bins to check moisture levels; Write elevator tickets; Duties may vary
