Job description
Participate in the inspection, grading, and post-harvest treatment of crops by drying to reduce moisture levels; Identify pests to determine the selection and application of pesticides during drying; Use hand tools to repair erosion areas on fallow acres during dormant months; Remove trees to reclaim land on fallow acres and around power units, remove debris including using a chain saw and pile trees and other natural debris for burning or decomposing after crop is harvested and prior to planting; Winterize watering systems to prevent damage from winter weather. Repair farm machinery, buildings & other structures. Participate in the header conversion to adapt corn headers to harvest grain sorghum; Participate in the inspection and temperature check of composted manure; Must be able to speak English.
Special Requirements
Be able to work in extreme conditions such as heat, humidity, wind, cold. Lift and carry supplies. Follow instructions. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license within 30 days following hire and obtain clean driving record to be able to operate company vehicle. Lift up to 50 lbs.
