Job description
On farms, seasonal work from November through March involving weaning of calves, including acclimatization to new environments, and assisting with socialization of calves. Workers will be responsible for gradually reducing calves’ dependency on mother’s milk and will help the calves transition to a solid food diet. Introduce alternative sources of nutrition. Introduce pellets, hay, and corn to diet when calves are ready.
Special Requirements
Position requires three (3) months of experience in livestock. Must be able to lift 75 lbs for 75 yds. Post-employment drug tests are paid for by employer when applicable. Employees must be able to lift and carry materials or equipment with a weight of 75 pounds frequently throughout the workday. Work requires repetitive movements and extensive walking. Workers may be required to work during rain and snow conditions that are not severe enough to stop operations. Workers should be physically able to do the work required. Workers will be expected to work on days that are deemed workable by Employer's management. Disciplinary action may be taken if worker does not show up for work due to stated conditions. Workers are expected to be at work on time every day work is available and to work the full workday as specified in this job order.
