Job description
The worker will operate, monitor, maintain, and perform routine repairs and adjustments to irrigation pivot systems used in agricultural crop production. Duties include inspecting irrigation pivots for proper operation; starting, stopping, and adjusting pivot systems to ensure even water distribution; lubricating moving parts; replacing worn or damaged components such as tires, hoses, sprinkler heads, belts, fuses, and switches; checking and maintaining proper water pressure and flow; clearing debris and obstructions; and performing basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting related to pivot operation.
The worker will regularly walk fields to observe pivot movement and coverage, identify leaks or malfunctions, and make necessary adjustments. The worker may assist with seasonal setup, alignment, and shutdown of irrigation systems and help move or reposition pivots as needed. The worker will keep work areas clean and organized and follow all safety procedures when working around equipment, water, and electrical components.
All work is performed on the employer’s farm and is incidental to and in support of normal agricultural crop production. No advanced mechanical diagnostics or off-farm repair work is required.
Special Requirements
Post-employment drug tests are paid for by the employer when applicable. One (1) month of related experience is required. Employees must be able to lift and carry materials or equipment with a weight of up to 75 lbs. for 75 yards frequently throughout the day.
