Job description

Worker will be required to complete the following activities as directed by supervisor: fill, load, tag, move and stack seed trays; feed seed trays into seeding equipment; perform basic maintenance and operation of forklift, tractor and other farm equipment as directed on farm property only; fertilize and water plants manually or with irrigation equipment according to schedule and variety; repair and maintain irrigation system; apply pest control methods and perform maintenance on safety equipment as needed; general maintenance, cleaning and repairs of greenhouses and fields on Employer property; drive Employer-provided vehicle to and from the worksite and to other locations.

Pay will be hourly.

Other duties assigned under this order will be consistent under Bureau of Labor Statistics Standard Occupational Classification: Farmworkers and Laborers, Crop, Nursery and Greenhouse Workers (45-2092)

Special Requirements

Experience Requirement: 3 month(s) verifiable experience in commercial greenhouse required. Applicants must furnish job references from employers of the last 3 years establishing acceptable prior experience.

Job requires worker to complete tasks in general labor for greenhouse plants and vegetative transplants: tomato, pepper, watermelon, cucurbits, celery, cabbage, brassicas, onion, eggplant, herbs, tobacco, fruiting trees, and strawberries, planting, transplanting, seeding, growing and general maintenance. Employer will provide instructions and training on specific job duties.

Season Commitment: Drug testing done at employer's expense and not utilized as preemployment tool.

Job offered requires worker be available for work for entire employment period.
