Ranch Worker

Job description

On-call 24 hours/day, 7 days/week and holidays if necessary. Feeding, grazing, caring for livestock, including cattle, horses or goats as needed. Break, train, shoe horses. Herd and move cattle from pens, pasture to pasture, scatter bulls, gather, castrate, brand, earmark, administer medications, inspect for noxious plants, predatory animals, weather protection for herd, fertility test. Cut and clear brush, work on horseback and or on foot. As needed supplemental feeding of livestock with tractor or pickup. Must be able to ride and handle horses, work cattle from horseback. Must have basic working ability with ranch implements, able to work without supervision. Hourly schedule 7am to 12pm and 2pm to 5pm. Workers will spend more than 50% of workdays in the work contract period in the herding of production of livestock on the range.
