Job description

We have cattle that need to be cared for from august – June. We have fall calves that will begin calving in August. We will bring the fall cattle home from pasture first of August and they need to be tended to daily. The spring calves will come home from pasture more than likely early November unless the weather conditions call for it sooner. Employees will need to check the water tanks, and using a pickup truck for hauling water, to make sure there is water always available, feed daily, check to be sure there are no sick cows, and doctoring when needed. Employee duties will include assisting with pulling a calf, trailering them to the veterinarian if needed, and doctoring calves. Employees will complete all cattle care as assigned, and some general farm duties. No care, feeding or water will be needed while in pastures. We only need seasonal assistance during the very labor-intensive calving season.

For 2024 and all future applications the starting date will be 08/01 to cover the entire cattle season.

Special Requirements

Job requires extensive walking, pushing, pulling, repetitive movements, frequent stooping and exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Job requires a regular drivers license. Require 3 months experience.

Did you know that... most J-1 workers who work more than 40 hours a week

(and in some states, more than 8 hours a day), can get paid "time and a half?"
