Job description

We have cattle that will need to be cared for from September to May. Cattle will be shipped to us in September. Before they arrive, pens will need to be prepared. Upon cattle arriving they will need to be processed. Processing includes tagging, branding, and doctoring. Anticipating our average freeze in October, we will prepare to begin to rotate cattle to be grazed in temporary fenced areas. These cattle will need to be provided feed and water daily. Employees will complete all cattle care as assigned, and some general farm duties. This routine will continue throughout the winter months of October through April. In April cows will be sold or shipped to market and will require sorting, counting, loading, and occasional weighing of cattle shipments. As this is a seasonal order of activity, we only need seasonal assistance during the very labor-intensive cattle raising season.

*** Please note that 12/26 was the earliest date available for this year. Please note that we will be adjusting our starting date to 09/01 for all future applications to cover our entire season.

Special Requirements

Employer will conduct post-hire drug tests at no cost to the employee to enforce a drug free workplace policy. Failing a drug test will result in termination. Job requires exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures, extensive pushing or pulling, extensive sitting or walking, frequent stooping or bending over, repetitive movements. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must have a regular driver's license. Requires 3 months farm experience.
