Job description

Workers will inspect bees and hives beginning in January, make, move and divide new hives. Move bees to flowering Almond, citrus and wildflower areas, move bees from pollination areas to bee yard, pull and extract honey, clean, repair and construct hives and frames. Bee production runs from January through October, applicants must have no fear of insects, no allergies to bees or pollen, must have 3 months of verifiable experience with beekeeping and must be able to lift 70 lbs regularly. Drug screens will be conducted upon incidence or accident and will be at the expense of the employer. No smoking or alcohol is allowed on the worksite or housing property. Workers will need to possess or be able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days to transport hives from pollination areas to bee yard by driving on public roads. The cost of the drivers license will be paid for by the employer. There will be a evening shift until 11pm for a total of 60 non consecutive days during this contract.

Part of the workers job description is to transport materials to the job and or move hives within and between worksites. This is done with a flatbed pickup therefore requiring the workers to have or obtain a drivers license within 30 days. The cost of obtaining a drivers license will be at the expense of the employer and all time spent driving on the job will be paid by the employer as well as fuel and vehicle maintenance, etc.

Special Requirements

Hours listed in Section A.6 are the anticipated hours to be worked. These hours could increase or decrease based on weather conditions, crop delay, pests or disease, crop yield, available labor, and or productivity.
