Job description
We have cattle on the ranch that require feeding of the calves and calving out the cows and heifers from December to May. During the cold winter months, the grass in the pastures stop growing and snow covers the fields. We bring our cattle in from pastures and confine them for the winter season. During this winter season confinement serves a dual purpose. This is also our calving season. Cows are confined to calving pens. During this period feeding and care for the cows/calves are needed daily. After May, the cows will be moved to grass pastures after which point no care or feeding is needed. During the calving time, the employee will need to assist the cows during calving, branding, and vaccinating then moving to the summer pasture. We are only looking for seasonal assistance during the very labor-intensive calving season.
For 2024 and all future applications the starting date will be 11/01 to cover the entire cattle season.
Special Requirements
Job requires extensive pushing or pulling and exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Job requires a regular drivers license. Requires 3 months experience.
