Job description
Drive, tow, tend, attach, and operate farm machinery to till the soil, plant, cultivate, spray, spread,
move agricultural products, and agricultural commodities. Manipulate controls to set, activate, record,
and adjust farm machinery used in agriculture production (some equipment is equipped with GPS
technology). Mix specified agriculture material and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into seed
tender, planter or spray machinery safely and properly. Drive farm vehicles to haul crops, supplies,
tools, or farm workers. Work in a packing house facility to load and unload potatoes that are 100%
grown by employer. Load and unload crops or agriculture products using augers, forklifts, loader,
backhoe, hand trucks, conveyors, or manually when necessary. Operate and maintain grain dryer
and grain tanks. Operate, check, and maintain center pivot irrigations to irrigate the soil. Diagnose
machinery and farm vehicles through observation and listening, adjust, service, maintain, and repair
farm machinery and farm vehicles as needed. Workers are asked to maintain a clean working area
and clean farm equipment using pressure washer when needed. Other assigned seasonal farm tasks
and ground maintenance.
Special Requirements
Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Employer requires
drug screen post hire at employers expense due to the liability of operating equipment. Employer requires criminal background
check post-hire at employers' expense due to the presence of children on the farm. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal
background check will result in termination of employment. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. Wage rate may
increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those
listed here in his sole discretion.
