Job description
Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties found in SOC Code 45-2091 Agricultural Equipment Operator such as: Mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery; Spray fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus and weed growth, and diseases; Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions; Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on field bound machinery; Operate or tend primarily John Deere equipment (much of which is equipped with GPS) used in agricultural production such as 40' air seeder, 120' sprayer, S series combine, grain cart, mower, etc. to cultivate, plant, fertilize, water, harvest, store crops such as wheat, soybeans, milo, corn, hay; Adjust and service farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions; Inform farm managers of crop progress; Attach farm implements such as plows, discs, planters, harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools; Attend to life farm animals including cattle by selling, hauling, feeding, watering, etc.; Operate towed machines such as seed drills, carts, or spreaders to plant, fertilize, dust, store, spray crops; Irrigate soil and maintain irrigation system.
