Job description

Van Drivers:

VAN DRIVER SPECIFICATIONS:

1. Employees may drive vans (not busses) over the road.

2. Employee picks up workers from different housing sites/pick up points and takes them to an assigned work site and at the end of the workday takes them back to the housing site/pick up point. Employee will also work in the assigned crew

All employees in this position (H-2A as well as corresponding domestic workers), will be given the opportunity to obtain a driver’s license (DL) on a voluntary basis. The DL is not a pre-hire job requirement. No job applicant will be denied an employment opportunity due to a lack of a DL at the time of application and/or hiring. Further, no worker (H-2A or corresponding domestic worker) will be terminated for failure to obtain a DL or FLCE Certificate.

Vineyard Worker (Wine Grapes)

Work on grape crop, including:

January through August: vine suckering, shoot thinning, pruning, leafing, training of young vines, crop thinning and adjustment, irrigating and maintaining grape vines

August, September, and October: harvesting

October and November: harvest / post-harvest work

Works as a member of a crew, or individually performing moderately complex tasks that require limited judgment. Use standard tools such as rakes, long handled hoes, pruning shears, and shovels. Workers may occasionally and/or sporadically perform duties associated with and directly related to wine grape field and harvest work functions in and around the vineyard. Such work will be temporary and insubstantial agricultural labor.
Workers will also set up and operate a tractor.
Erect irrigation equipment. Operate Irrigation drip system, open / close valves and monitoring for leaks.
