Job description

The job duties involve skilled farm labor for the purpose of planting, growing, and harvesting potatoes and sweet
potatoes. Duties include:
Operating equipment to prepare the land, plant potatoes and sweet potatoes, grow the crop, irrigate, till, and harvest the crop. This
includes tractors, forklifts, conveyers, seed cutters, planters, harvesters, disks, chisel plows, diking soil, rolling rows, forming crop rows, transplanting slips, and using 8 row equipment.
Perform basic maintenance and repairs on all on farm equipment.
Full time supervision is provided. All tools are provided at no cost.

Special Requirements

Hours of work will be offered above 40 hours per week, but is on a voluntary basis. Work schedules may fluctuate relative to weather conditions, field conditions, and seed availability. Work may be required on weekends and holidays. Work hours may fluctuate due to
production schedules.
Workers will be required to obtain or hold the correct type of drivers license as required by state and Federal laws in order to drive a light passenger vehicle (i.e. pickup) to and from fields to perform work.
Twelve months experience is required in commercial farm setting operating the equipment listed in the job description.
Workers must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time and work in extreme temperatures, including work outside, will be required for at least 6 hours a day in all kinds of weather, including direct sunlight, windy/dusty conditions, and rain.
Extensive walking will be required when in the fields to get to and from irrigation units and equipment.
