Job description

We farm 5000 acres of corn, wheat, soybeans, and grain sorghum. Acres and crops are split between irrigated and dry land. 5 wells pump water to 11 sprinklers. We run modern John Deere equipment equipped with GPS and auto steer. We do all of our own herbicide application and harvest our own crops. We maintain a hundred head cow herd. Cows are shipped to Colorado to run on grass May 1 and return home November 1. Cows are being cared for by an outside source while they are in Colorado. Calving season runs from February 1 through April 15. Employee will need to assist with calving and cattle care during this period while cattle are confined and calving only. No cattle duties will be needed after this period. We need seasonal employee to assist with all aspects of this farming operation. Employee will need to service and maintain irrigation equipment. Keep sprinklers running and nozzles clear of debris. Service and maintain tractors, sprayer, combine, planter, and all other farm equipment. Help with harvest duties. Combine operator, grain cart driver or truck driver. Planting, fertilizing, and general field work. Workshop duties and maintaining farm headquarters premises will also be required. Employee will need to complete routine repairs and maintenance on equipment. (Farm trucking only, per KS exemption, no commercial trucking or CDL is required). Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer’s discretion. Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer’s discretion.

Special Requirements

Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Job requires a regular drivers license and 3 months experience.
