Job description

• Workers must be able to lift 75 pounds.
• Plant small trees in rows by hand. This job requires the person to be bending constantly and consistently throughout the workday.
• Remove weeds from rows using a nursery hoe avoiding damage to the tree. This job requires the person to walk and bend for long periods of time.
• Irrigation – Repair, move, and connect irrigation lines. This job requires the person to bend, shovel and walk on muddy surfaces and lift up to 75 pounds.
• Bud and tier grafts in the field. This job requires the person to kneel constantly and consistently throughout the workday with half of upper body supported by a cart when budding in the field.
• Staking and tying trees walking on uneven ground. Placing, removing, and picking up stakes using a tape gun one and a stake pulling tool. This job requires physical strength as stake bundles can weigh up to 60 pounds and the ability to twist and bend throughout the day.
• Place grow tubes on trees. This job requires the person to walk and bend for long periods.
• Pruning, remove buds and branches from trees using knives and/or pruners. This job requires the person to walk constantly and consistently throughout the workday and bend for long periods of time.
• Walk behind a tree/seedling digger and pick up trees or seedlings from the ground to shake the mud off. Trees can weigh 10-40 pounds depending on the size of the tree and the humidity of the soil. Seedlings are picked up in small bundles. Shovel work might be needed to dig ditches or trees in the fields that digger can’t access. This job requires the person to walk, bend, and twist constantly and consistently throughout the workday.
