Job description

General worker needed for alligator, cattle, hay pasture and ryegrass farm. Feed, handle, maintain, retrieve/return of alligators, harvesting of alligators/eggs, incubate, and returning of wild alligators to marshes. Manually clean and repair miles of fence. Hauling and feeding hay, assist in calving, clean stalls, water and feed, assist with gates, count heads and brand. Work includes field prep, fertilize, harvest, plant, tractor driving, and water maint. May deliver crop to cooler or market. Field prep includes operate farm equipment, manual shovel work and hoeing of weeds, spot spray treatments and gen farm labor. Help repair and maintain alligator houses, barn, buildings, cattle, corrals, equip, farm, fences, fields, levees, marshes, pastures, ponds, properties, roads, shed, shop and water troughs. Load and unload trucks. Worker must be able to lift/carry 70 lbs. M-F, some Sat/Sun, work in excess of 40 hours may vary. Employees may be compensated above the stated hourly wage, this decision to pay above the prevailing hourly wage will be made by the employer, basing this decision on factors that include the individual recipient's performance and work history. Allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, insect spray and related chemicals and pesticdes, etc. may affect workers’ ability to perform the job. Employer may require post hire, random, upon suspicion or post accident drug testing, all at no cost to employee. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment. Job involves stooping, lifting and working outside in inclement weather. Must have 3 mo exp in similar position.
