Job description
Row crop farming: Drive and operate farm machinery to plant, spray, cultivate, harvest and store crops.
Attach farm implements such as plow, disc and drill to a tractor.
Till the soil, rock picking, plant and cultivate grain.
Assist with irrigation of crops and drain excess water from crops.
Operate heavy farming equipment like tractors, spray rig and track hoe.
Tow harvesting equipment.
Drive semi-trucks to transport crops to elevator and storage area. Storage areas are located on the farm, but also outside farm boundaries. Workers drive a distance of 5 - 25 miles to the storage areas.
General maintenance of equipment.
Manual labor: Pick up and carry sacks of grain, load and unload trucks.
Crops: rice, wheat, corn, soybeans and milo
Special Requirements
Minimum of 3 months verifiable experience is required.
Job duties require intense physical labor and will involve extensive pushing, pulling, sitting and walking, frequent stooping or bending over and repetitive movements. Work duties include lifting of agricultural tools, equipment and bags of grains that weigh up to 75 lbs.
The Arkansas summers can be extremely hot and humid and workers will be exposed to these conditions while working.
Workers must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30-90 days of hire.
Due to operating farm machinery and equipment, workers will be required to take a drug test post-hiring. Drug testing will be conducted at the employer's instruction and expense. Positive testing will result in the termination of the employment contract.
