Job description

Operate or tend equipment used in agricultural production and transport of materials, such as tractors, harvesters, field loaders, sprayers, ditchers, dozers, excavators, Big Trucks (Eighteen Wheelers), slide off Trailers, Low boys, End dump Trailers, Dump trucks, Straight trucks, and irrigation equipment. Load and Drive (operate) hoppers, containers, or conveyors, by using forklifts, shovels, pitchforks, suction gates, etc. Spray fertilizers or pesticides. Attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools. Drive and control agriculture equipment to till the soil, and to plant, cultivate, fertilize, spray, and harvest crops. Move material from one site to another by using the company's vehicles (trucks and trailers) and deliver sugar cane to the mill. May perform tasks, such as crop bailing or crop harvesting. May operate stationary equipment to perform post-harvesting tasks, such as husking, shelling, threshing, and ginning. Observe and listen to machinery operations to detect equipment malfunctions. Hand planting of sugar cane which includes pulling cane from a wagon by hand and placing it in rows. Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery. Washing and maintenance of farm equipment. Other physical activities that might require work under inclement weather.

Special Requirements

The work schedule includes 1 hour of unpaid lunch. Employees may be asked to work additional hours. Overtime might be offered. Employees might have to work under inclement weather.
