Job description

Workers will assist in two main areas for on a farm for a farmer, this includes dry fertilizer application.
Prior to the application portion of the job workers will be expected to study for and obtain a commercial
pesticide license. During the application portion of the job workers will: Mix dry fertilizer or other crop
production products (chemicals), load truck with dry fertilizer or crop production products as well as load
spraying equipment including spray applicators, tractors, and any safety equipment needed to handle the
materials. Once arriving on the farm site workers will unload all necessary equipment and materials and apply
dry fertilizer with a 2014 TERREGATOR TG9300 floater or crop production products with a 2010 JOHN
DEERE 4730 sprayer.
Workers will also assist in maintaining farm systems and grain handling components such as grain bins,
augers, dryers, etc.. Workers may operate various types of equipment such as forklifts, skid loaders, or
pickup trucks to transport.
During down time some shop maintenance, grounds maintenance, tractor/sprayer maintenance such as oil
changes, tire changes, and other mechanical maintenance might be required.

Special Requirements

Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Certified license is required. Must be able to
obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Drug testing is done post hire at employers expense. Drug screen is required due to the liability of driving heavy equipment and company vehicles. Failure to pass drug screen will result in termination of employment.
