Seasonal Landscape Laborer, Mulch Division

Job description

SUMMARY:
Works efficiently spreading mulch as directed by the Crew Leader to complete scope of work.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Reports on time in company uniform and professional appearance to designated location specified by Crew Leader.
• Completes mulching tasks as directed by the Crew Leader.
• Operates a mulch blower hose and wireless remote to control the proper flow and application of mulch.
• Uses a backpack blower to remove dust and debris from windows and surrounding outside areas and structures.
• Completes mulching in an efficient, professional, quality manner.
• Communicates jobsite problems and potential hazards to supervisor.
• Promotes positive public relations, image, and environment of mutual respect between all parties.
• Ensures safe working environment; including the proper care, maintenance, and operation of company equipment.
• Maintains proper housekeeping at shop, jobsites, company vehicles, and equipment.
• Communicates to Crew Leader any repair or maintenance issues for vehicles and equipment.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this Job, the individual is constantly moving about at the jobsite location to perform mulching tasks as specified by the work order. The individual frequently positions self as needed to mulch grounds. They are constantly using power tools such as a mulch blower hose and backpack blower to complete the work order and mulching application process. They must be able to exchange accurate information with other employees and customers throughout the service process. The individual must be capable of reviewing their work as necessary. The employee must regularly push, pull, and/or move up to 60 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the individual is constantly exposed to outside weather conditions. They are occasionally exposed to vibration. The individual performing this job is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. They are also exposed to dust, dirt and grease conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The individual will be exposed to loud machinery or equipment.
Due to exposure to machinery and electrical currents, employees are required to wear personal protective equipment. During warmer months, the required personal protective equipment may cause the employee to be very warm while working. The individual will be exposed to loud machinery or equipment.

Special Requirements

The workers will be subjected to pre-employment, upon suspicion, and upon accident/incident drug screening.
