Agricultural Equipment Operator And General Farm Worker

Job description

Job duties include but are not limited to:
Row crop farming: drive and operate farm machinery to plant, spray, cultivate, harvest and store crops.
Attach farm implements such as plow, disc and drill to a tractor.
Till the soil, rock picking, plant and cultivate grain.
Irrigation of rice and soybeans.
Drain excess water from crops and assist in the irrigation of crops.
Equipment maintenance - general lubrication incidental repair to farm machinery.
General maintenance, including welding

Manual labor: pick up and carry sacks of grain, load and unload trucks. Applicants must note that the farm is a drug and alcohol-free environment. Zero alcohol tolerance policy on the entire farm, including housing. Smoking is allowed, but not inside of the housing, farm buildings and any vehicles.

Crops: Rice and soybeans

Special Requirements

Minimum of 3 months experience is required.
Good communication skills in English will be beneficial.
Job duties require intense physical labor -extensive pushing, pulling, sitting and walking.
Some duties will involve repetitive movements, frequent stooping or bending over.
Work is performed outdoors and workers will be exposed to extreme temperatures and humid conditions.
Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 - 90 days of hire. Experience in driving an 18-wheeler and tractors will be beneficial.
Workers must be reliable and timely.
