Ag Equipment Operator

Job description

Performs duties like: Drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest and store crops. Rock picking. Attach farm implements, such as plow, disc and drill to tractor. Till soil, plant and cultivate. Tow harvesting equipment. Drive and operate forage harvesting equipment such as mower, rakes and balers. General lubrication, service (check fluids) and mechanical repair to farm machinery. Drive trucks to haul crops, supplies, tools, or farm workers. Use blade and tractors to adequately pack silage in bunker. Manure spreading on our own farm. Install and/or repair drainage tile.

Crops: Alfalfa, Corn, Hay, Silage, Triticale

Special Requirements

Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Employer requires drug screen post hire at employers expense due to the liability of operating equipment. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers' expense due to the presence of children on the farm and expensive tools and equipment. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
