Job description
Workers must be able to: diagnose, adjust, repair, and overhaul farm machinery and vehicles, such as tractors, harvesters, and irrigation systems; dismantle defective machines for repair, using hand tools; record details of repairs made and parts used; re-assemble machines and equipment following repair; test machinery/vehicle operation and make adjustments, as necessary; and clean and lubricate parts. Related duties may be assigned. Work is performed in a mechanic shop setting and outdoors in highly varied weather conditions. Frequent walking, stooping, bending, crouching, and kneeling is required. Being on one’s feet for long time periods is required. Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds is required. Frequent turning, pushing, and pulling is required. Dexterity to use and manipulate tools and parts is required. Vision, focus, and cognitive ability to accomplish the functions above is required. Ability and licensure to drive is required.
Special Requirements
Workers must have 60 days verifiable experience performing the job duties under Section A(8)(a). The work schedule under Section A(6) may be subject to change where weather, crops, or business needs demand. Work may be requested in addition to or outside of this schedule, including on nights, weekends, and holidays. Work assignments, crew assignments, and assigned work tasks are at the sole discretion of the employer. Workers must comply with the employers work rules and housing rules, which are set forth in full in Addendum C. Workers must comply with the employers personnel policies, including but not limited to its policies regarding safety, harassment/discrimination, abusive conduct, and drugs and alcohol. Workers must follow all reasonable and lawful instructions and directives. The employer reserves all management prerogatives not inconsistent with applicable law.
