Job description
Duties may include tending to farm & horses. Repair farm structures, fences & equipment, clean & maintain animal housing areas & grounds; assist with yearling prep, care, feeding and breeding of horses. Assist with horse breeding process and care for mares, stallions, foals and babies. Feeding/gentling of foals, work on imprinting doctor babies. Tend to horse facility and grounds. Unload hay and feed. May operate farm motorized farm equipment: Tractors, ATVs, manure spreaders, truck and trailer, etc. Involves bending, stooping, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching and repetitive movements on a frequent basis. Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs. Possibility of performance-based raise and/or increased rate based on experience. Workers with proper licensing and clean driving records, may be asked to light farm trucks.
Special Requirements
This job requires a minimum of 3 months of prior experience working on a horse farm, handling both manual and mechanized tasks. Must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds.
