Job description

There will be a demonstration period to familiarize workers with specific jobs and to demonstrate proper methods of working.
Feb Job duties: clearing up bushes, cleaning fields that were harvested before, mowing the grass in-between the tree lines, and clean up the rows, tree topping, tag the trees, may apply herbicide to the trees Duties and Responsibilities:
All seasonal requirements for the harvesting of different varieties of Christmas trees according to established company procedures taking into account instructions based on market and operational demands. Land preparation includes picking up sticks and rocks.

Harvest requires the packing of trees out of the fields, shaking the trees to remove dead needles, baling the trees using baling equipment, transport of trees on trailers and the loading of trees into trucks. Workers must exercise care to avoid damage to trees and equipment. Other farm responsibilities include clean-up and road maintenance.
When needing to lift items weighing more than 50 pounds, use two or more people to lift the load
The trees are then transported to a staging area where they are individually bailed and loaded by hand onto a truck for transport to the different wholesale or vender locations.
Once the harvesting is complete, workers will clean the farm area and staging area of all debris and finish the removal of roots and stumpage as required.
CHRISTMAS TREE OPERATIONS:
Work in cold, wet weather;
Lift and carry 75-80lb(50lbs and above; assistance may be used) trees continuously throughout the day;
Bundle trees, prepare for transport, and load into containers;
Field work and clean up

Special Requirements

4e) Must be able to lift and/or load 75lbs. When lifting above 50 lbs, workers will be allowed assistance.
4g) Work may take place when temperatures are below freezing and above 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
4h) May require extensive pulling and/or pushing of tools, wheel barrows, trees, etc.
4i) May require worker to sit and/or walk for extensive periods of time while trunk painting, hand fertilizing, examining, selecting, transporting, etc.
4j) Workers will be required to stoop and/or bend over while performing farm labor such as weeding, irrigating, planting,cone picking, removing debris, etc. 4k) There will be repetitive movements while performing most of the farm labor duties, for example cone picking, sorting, base pruning, shoveling, weeding, etc.
