Greenhouse Worker

Job description

Workers will perform manual labor for hothouse/greenhouse tomato crop work in all stages. Duties include harvesting, lowering, clipping, pruning and packing various tomato varieties in greenhouses/hothouses, as well as other crop related activities, general farm labor, and cleanup. Duties also include produce inspection, packing in packhouse attached to greenhouse (on the farm), other crop-related activities, general farm labor, and cleanup. Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor. Duties may vary from time to time. The activities will be performed under extreme weather conditions and physical conditions including but not limited to prolonged standing, walking, bending, stooping, heavy lifting (up to 25 lbs.), and working in extremely hot and/or cold weather.

The employer will provide the tools necessary to perform the described job duties without charge to the worker. The employer will charge to the workers for reasonable costs related to the worker's refusal or negligent failure to return the tools or due to such worker's willful damage or destruction of the tools.

Workers must adhere to all safety rules as instructed by supervisors and practice safety in all aspects of work. The employer is a drug-free workplace and has a zero tolerance policy for drugs and alcohol in the workplace and in the employer-provided housing.
