Job description
Operating self-propelled equipment that reaps, harvests, threshes, swathes, or winnows crops such as corn, wheat, milo, alfalfa, hay, triticale; performing manual or mechanical adjustments to equipment including attaching equipment; performing safety checks on equipment; maintaining and repairing equipment and other tools; transporting crops to elevators, silos, or other storage areas, and transporting equipment and other tools used for harvesting from one field to another; direct and monitor work during harvesting; inform farm managers of crop progress; clean work areas and maintain grounds. Work performed on locations controlled by VP may include repairs to farm buildings, fences, and other structures; handling and applying fertilizers like manure; obtaining parts and supplies.
