Job description
Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties found in SOC Code 45-2091 Agricultural Equipment Operators such as: Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops by drying, storing, loading/unloading, shipping; Record information about crops such as pesticide use, yields, or costs; Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Set up, repair, maintain, and operate irrigation equipment; Inform farm managers of crop progress; Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery (much of which is equipped with GPS and harvest data technology) to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops such as corn, soybeans; Load inputs and drive trucks to transport to employer’s fields, load employer’s crops and drive trucks to transport to fields and storage facilities such as elevators, bins, silos, piles/bags in close proximity to the farm; Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping; Regulate conditions; Haul and spread topsoil, fertilizer, and other materials to condition soil; Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; Mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery; Attach implements using hand tools; Perform physical labor; Record, manage, and produce reports from grain data, records, and logs; Track fields and varieties of crops; Set-up, maintain and download data on farm machinery to analyze and improve production in the field; Safely enter and exit equipment and navigate multiple levels of stairs; Communicate in English and be able to calculate and convert using the Imperial System for measurement; Operate Vertical Grain Systems or its equivalent.
