Job description
Workers will plant, cultivate, and harvest vegetable crops. Tasks include : field preparation by removing rocks, spreading soil amendments and tilling, planting crops by hand or using mechanical planters, cultivating crops to remove weeds, spreading mulch, fertilizing and spraying crops, covering greenhouse, covering crops with protective coverings, moving irrigation equipment, pruning and trellising crops, setting posts line and netting, harvesting crops by cutting, pulling or digging, loading crops to remove from field, bunching , washing and packing crops, loading crops to be shipped, distribution of crops to markets, stores or other distribution sites.
Special Requirements
Familiarity with determinate and indeterminate tomato varieties and the pruning and trellising techniques for each. Knowlwdge of melon production and ability to ascertain ripeness.
