Job description
We run a livestock operation of approximately 500 head. We farm approximately 6000 acres of farm ground. We have a seed and feed business also. Job duties will include: prepare fields for planting, attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools, operate tractors, planters, seed drills, irrigation equipment, operate other farm equipment, engage in planting, weeding, spraying and/or harvesting activities, spray fertilizer, use forklifts, transfer augers, suction gates, shovels, or pitchforks, attach equipment extensions or accessories, load crops and unload crops, operate equipment to harvest crops, drive farm trucks to haul crops, and complete routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping, repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment, repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures. Employees will need to monitor cattle while on pastures from April until November. Employees will need to check on cattle, assist with working cattle, vaccinating cattle, sorting and loading cattle. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer’s discretion. Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer’s discretion.
Special Requirements
Employer will conduct post-hire drug tests at no cost to the employee to enforce a drug free workplace policy. Failing a drug test will result in termination. Job requires exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures, extensive pushing or pulling, extensive sitting or walking, frequent stooping or bending over, repetitive movements. Must be able to lift 100 lbs. Must have a regular driver's license and 3 months experience.
