Farmworker

Job description

Perform various field work duties involved in the production of various plants/ produce. Plant, transplant, weed, thin, hoe, harvest, maintain, and other required tasks. Sort, wash, pack, prepare crops for storing and shipping. Transport, deliver crops from field to farm and/or retail stand. Transport, deliver crops for storing and shipping. Cut brush and other vegetation in and around fields, buildings, and equipment. May assemble wreaths with harvested materials. Operate, load, maintain, repair, unload trucks, tractors and other farm vehicles, implements and trailers. Operate, maintain, repair vegetable washing, grading, sorting equipment. Will set up, maintain, and operate varied irrigation equipment. Repairs and maintains farm worker housing and structures. 30-minute meal break.

Crops: mixed organic vegetables, fruits, herbs.

Special Requirements

Two months experience in farm work, such as harvesting, planting, grading, and greenhouse production, is preferred. Must be able to perform job duties to employers' satisfaction. Must be able to comply with instructions from supervisors. Must behave in a courteous, professional manner. Sundays may be offered. Daily beginning/ end times will vary depending on crop and other conditions.
