Job description

Load and unload crops or containers of materials, manually or using conveyors, handtrucks, forklifts, or transfer augers. Mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions,
powders, or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery. Spray fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus and weed growth, and diseases, using hand sprayers.
Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions. Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery. Operate or tend
equipment used in agricultural production, such as tractors, combines, and irrigation equipment. Adjust, repair, and service farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery
malfunctions. Attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools. Load hoppers, containers, or conveyors to feed
machines with products, using forklifts, transfer augers, suction gates, shovels, or pitchforks. Direct and monitor the activities of work crews engaged in planting, weeding, or
harvesting activities. Operate towed machines such as seed drills or manure spreaders to plant, fertilize, dust, and spray crops. Weigh crop-filled containers, and record weights
and other identifying information. Drive trucks to haul crops, supplies, tools, or farm workers. Guide products on conveyors to regulate flow through machines, and to discard
diseased or rotten products. Attach farm implements, such as plow, disc and drill to tractor. “All Other” titles represent occupations with a wide range of characteristics which do

Direct and monitor the work of casual and seasonal help during planting and harvesting. Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of
crops. Identify plants, pests, and weeds to determine the selection and application of pesticides and fertilizers. Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled
machinery to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops. Load agricultural products into trucks, and drive trucks to market or storage facilities.
Clean work areas, and maintain grounds and landscaping. Record information about plants and plant growth. Maintain inventory, ordering materials as required. Repair farm
buildings, fences, and other structures. Place products in containers according to grade and mark grades on containers. Weigh products or estimate their weight, visually or by
feel. Discard inferior or defective products or foreign matter, and place acceptable products in containers for further processing. Grade and sort products according to factors such
as color, species, length, width, appearance, feel, smell, and quality to ensure correct processing and usage. Record grade or identification numbers on tags or on shipping,
receiving, or sales sheets. Examine and inspect containers, materials, or products to ensure that product quality and packing specifications are met. Measure, weigh, and count
products and materials. Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records. Clean containers, materials, supplies, or work areas, using cleaning
solutions and hand tools.
Additional Requirements:
Operate field equipment such as self-propelled sprayers, to spread fertilizer on farms. Prior to fertilizing fields, prepare by pumping water anhydrous ammonia, and other
chemical/fertilizers from our storage tanks into the nurse tanks. calculating blends, batching the blends, pumping the blends into storage tanks on vehicles, fertilizer, and
equipment to fields.

Special Requirements

Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Certified license is required. Must be able to
obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds.
Extensive sitting is required. Repetitive movements is required. Overtime and taking holiday is
mandatory. Drug screen done post hire at the employers expense due to the liability of operating expensive equipment.
