Job description

Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties related to the production of corn, wheat, hay, teff grass, sudan grass, alfalfa, rye, triticale, and oats.
The majority of the work activities during the overall contract period, however, will be related to general farm work/irrigation/crop production.
General Farm Work will include the following responsibilities: maintain, drive, attach and operate farm implements/tractors/equipment to till soil, plant, cultivate, irrigate, fertilize, and harvest crops; make minor mechanical adjustments and repairs on farm machinery; mix and/or spray chemicals (according to appropriate restrictive use laws, when/if applicable); perform general clean-up of farm areas; remove undesirable and excess growth from crops or farm grounds; paint/repair/maintain farm structures; maintain/repair fencing; use hand tools including but not limited to hoes, shovels, and saws; drive, load/unload farm trucks and Ag exempt, non CDL semi/10-wheel trucks; operate vehicle, motor bike, or all-terrain vehicle in the course of performing duties. Transport crops to / from market / storage; workers possessing the proper licensure may be asked to transport other farm workers.
Irrigation duties will include the following:
Operate and maintain irrigation pivots on crops including lubricate, adjust, repair, maintenance and replace parts such as sprinkler heads, tires and drive chains using hand tools; observe revolving sprinklers and adjust to ensure proper operation and uniform distribution of water; assemble/disassemble/ monitor chemigation systems; disassemble, service and store pipes/mainlines/wheel lines after irrigation season.

Special Requirements

Applicants must provide the contact information of at least one reference who can verify performance. Employer expressly forbids the use of drugs/alcohol/tobacco at the worksite or in employer provided-housing. Workers are required to comply with posted company workplace and housing rules. Job duties may also require extensive standing.
