Job description
We are a commercial farming operation. We farm cotton, rye, and sorghum for hay. Our active season on the farm begins with land preparation in March, we begin planting operations in early May, irrigation, herbicide applications, fertilizer applications and tillage operations run throughout the summer months as well as general equipment maintenance and we harvest crops October through December. Employee will be required to do general farm labor (i.e. general maintenance, repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment and other general farm duties to list a few). Employee will be required to operate all machinery on the farm as well as operate Computer data collection, Precision Planting, Climate Field view, Trimble Guidance and Trimble Field Level systems proficiently as they are a vital part of our farming operation. Employee will assist with inventory control on all seed, fertilizers chemicals and other crop inputs. Employee will be responsible for a portion of irrigation operations and maintenance. Employee will need to periodically take educational courses for proper pesticide handling procedures as well as pass the exam to obtain his state required credentials.
Special Requirements
Job requires extensive sitting, walking and exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures. Must have a regular drivers license and 6 months experience.
