Job description
Job requires operating farm equipment including, but not limited to, machinery with GPS guidance systems, tractors with various implements, mechanical drills and seeders, grain carts, dozers, planters, mowers, plows, sprayers, cultivators, power shears, chainsaws, skid steer loaders, high lift, Bobcats, farm trucks, and ATVs to prepare fields; till soil; and plant, spray, irrigate, fertilize, spray, cultivate, harvest, and transport crops to elevator or storage area. Job also requires performing manual and mechanized tasks including, but not limited to, bush hogging fields; disking and aerating fields; leveling land by moving dirt and other materials; using hand tools including shovels, hoes, shears, clippers, loppers, and saws; lift, carry, load, and unload products or supplies; mowing, cutting , and weeding fields; raking; bailing; stacking; loading seed into planters; using hand tools in fields to rogue fields on foot, remove off-type plant varieties, and maintain proper field conditions for crop growth; install, operate, and maintain levee gates to regulate proper water depths in fields; assist with farm building/field maintenance and repairs; build and repair property borders. Workers will also be required to install and maintain irrigation systems and water lines, move and install irrigation pipe, and dig and install irrigation ditches. Workers will apply pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides to crops. Workers will perform mechanical repair and maintenance of equipment, weld, and regularly service and clean equipment. Job will require working with grain storage and conveying equipment such as grain bins and augers and sweeping, shoveling and leveling grain in the grain bins. Daily duties may vary depending on crop, weather, or field conditions. Pay increase or bonus may be possible depending on experience or merit.
Special Requirements
Job requires having or being able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Workers with a clean driving record (no major moving violations such as, but not limited to, driving while intoxicated or reckless driving) and able to obtain an insurable driver's license may drive company vehicles. Workers with appropriate licenses and a valid doctor's certificate may transport other workers. Basic English literacy and math skills required. Job duties will require workers performing tasks outdoors during periods when temperatures may exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Job duties will require periods when workers will push, pull, sit, walk, stoop, bend over, or perform repetitive movements for extended periods. continued in addendum C
