Job description
Feed, water, groom, bathe, exercise, or otherwise provide care to promote and maintain the well-being of livestock used in the petting zoo on the farm, which in addition to year-round dairy and row crop operations, entertains paying visitors in the months of March through October. Applicant will design exhibits for children to view animals; build and maintain pens, with banners and other education material; feed and water the animals; clean equipment and animal living spaces, monitor their diet, physical condition, and behavior; examine them for signs of illness or injury; exercise and bathe them and condition them to be calm around children, and to refrain from noises and sudden movements. Applicant will restock the farm stores with products produced on the farm, and will join the tour guides on tours and monitor the property in advance of tours to ensure that tourists are kept safe from animal and other farm hazards.
Special Requirements
Employer will train for 2 days (16 hours).
