Job description
I operate a 2600-acre farm that produces irrigated corn, irrigated cotton, dryland cotton, haygrazer, wheat, and barley. I need seasonal employees to plow, plant, cultivate and harvest corn, cotton, and hay using John Deere 8000 series tractors, cotton pickers, cotton strippers, hay equipment and implements equipped with John Deere GPS guidance systems. The employees will do weed removal by walking, hand-hoeing and spraying. They will maintain and repair subsurface drip irrigation systems, irrigation pumps and farm equipment. They will also keep machinery maintenance logs at scheduled service intervals by doing routine maintenance and repairs. Employer may pay performance-based incentive bonuses at the end of the contract period at the employer's discretion. Employer may provide pay increases for longevity and experience.
Special Requirements
Job requires extensive sitting, pushing, pulling, walking, frequent stooping and repetitive movements. Exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Employer will conduct post-hire drug testing and post hire criminal backgrounds checks at no cost to the employee since we have a drug-free workplace. Failing a drug test will result in termination. The employer will not hire anyone with a violent or theft criminal background. Require a regular driver's license. Require 3 months experience.
