Job description

Three temporary position openings. $2559.11 per month + free housing and food. A signed contract may be required. Three quarter time guarantee. Work tools, supplies and equipment will be provided at no cost to the worker. Transportation & subsistence expenses to worksite provided by employer or paid by employer upon completion of 50% of the work contract. This position will require that the worker will have a 24/7 on call general schedule and work is performed on the range for the majority (meaning more than 50 percent) of the workdays in the work contract period. The worker will be on the range for at least 51% of the time.. The worker will be provided with mobile housing that will move along with the worker. Employer will provide workers a minimum of 4.5 gallons of potable water per day per worker for drinking and cooking purposes. Additional clean water will be provided to meet the workers laundry and bathing needs. Cell phones will be used as well as a mobile radio if no cell service. Employer will see worker no less than every two days to provide fresh water and food as requested by the worker. Must be able to ride horses and/or ATV in order to move the livestock safely. Must have 3 months experience and provide (1) reference from previous employer with knowledge of applicants skills. Must be able to lift 75 pounds. Attend to livestock feeds and waters livestock by tractor and/or team on range or at ranch headquarters lambing, maintaining sheep herd health. Builds & cleans corrals. Calve calves, vaccinations and pregnancy check cows. Moves livestock to pasture for grazing. Assist with castration of livestock, and identification marking. Maintain all fences, corrals, cabins, buildings, range improvements, and livestock equipment used for proper cattle management. Cleans livestock stalls and sheds, using disinfectant solutions, brushes and shovels. Must have knowledge of repairing of fence, irrigation knowledge and management, planting, cultivating and harvesting hay for livestock. Maintain ranch buildings. Maintain equipment in a working condition and observe safe practices. Assist with the shipping of cows and calves. Longer hours (night shifts during calving) and more days (up to 7 days per week) may be required when feeding cows supplemental rations, calving season, irrigation and haying season. Workers must be willing and able to perform all duties according to the employers requirements during the contract period. Workers will be expected to work in conditions normally associated with Colorado climatic conditions. All materials and tools will be provided by the employer at no cost to the worker.
The employer will provide at no cost to the worker:
1. Cell phone
2. ALL Transportation on the property (4 wheeler, truck, horse)
3. All tools used for working with livestock, haying, and maintaining
the ranch property including hand tools, ranch equipment,
consumable supplies such as vaccines, etc)
The worker will not be responsible for providing any
tools in order to do any aspect of the job. THE
EMPLOYER WILL PROVIDE ALL TOOLS FOR ALL
ASPECTS OF THE JOB.

Special Requirements

The employer will provide workers compensation coverage for injury and disease arising out of and in the course of the workers employment and no cost to the worker and will be in effect not later than the beginning date of this job order.
The employer will provide at no cost to the worker a cell phone as an effective means of communicating with persons capable of responding to the workers need in case of an emergency. This device may be used for emergency or business use only.
This may be substituted for other means if the conditions warrant. Worker will be directed and controlled by the ranch operator and/or designated foreman. However, workers are often required to work alone for long periods without supervision and to perform the required work reliably and properly. Three months prior experience as a general ranch worker and one satisfactory reference is required.
