Job description
These workers will be responsible for blowing out driers with an air hose, checking glass over feeder tanks to make sure there is feed, steam out and clean extruders, keep knives sharp, starting extruders (see attached extruder procedures), checking feed to see if it is floating, drying feed, checking moisture in the feed every hour to keep the moisture rate at 10%, filling out paperwork accordingly. Workers will work with a big extruder, a little extruder, ingredient elevator, corn elevator, finished feed elevator, mixer elevator, fines elevator, transfer corn elevator, corn cleaner elevator, transfer catfish feed elevator, ingredient tanks, mixers, scale hoopers, computer that batches ingredients, finished feed product drag. Workers will unload corn drag, unload ingredient drag. Workers will also be responsible for working the driers, boiler, corn cleaner, take up fans, sewing machines, bagging line conveyor, wrapping machine, oil drum & elevator, a forklift, and a hammermill. Additional work will include cleaning work areas and sheds, removing debris from farm area, bird control, etc. General fish farm labor.
Special Requirements
Applicants must be 18 years or older. Employer may conduct background checks to all new applicants at the owner's expense. 3 months experience in Catfish Harvesting. The hours of work will vary due to weather conditions. All tools, supplies, and equipment will be provided at no cost to the worker. The job is outdoors, hot and cold temperatures. While harvesting catfish, workers will be working in 4 - 41/2 feet of water. Workers will be exposed to varying water temperatures which can range. Exposure to water temperatures can be below 50 degrees F or lower during the early months to 69 to 78 degrees F or higher in later months. Most of the workday is spent in aquacultural settings and involves exposure to sun, wind, rain, soil, mud, dust, heat, cold, humid and other natural elements. Workers may stand in one place for long periods of time and must be able to climb, stand, sit, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, bend (from the waist), push, pull, reach, and lift up to 60 pounds while performing
