Job description
Job duties include the operation of farm equipment to perform field work such as planting in the spring and harvesting in the fall. Drive trucks with trailers to haul seed, fertilizer and water in the spring and haul grain during harvest. Equipment that employees will be operating includes john deer combines, john deer tractors, grain carts, skid-steer loader, land-roller, and pay-loader. Non CDL farm trucks will be loaded with agricultural products and driven on the farm and to storage facilities. All equipment has GPS in it so employees must be able to work with this type of equipment. Duties also include manual labor such as repairing equipment, servicing equipment, cleaning the shop, cleaning and washing the farm equipment, cleaning out bins when and picking up debris after bad storms. Must have 3 months of experience, must have or be able to obtain a driver’s license within 30 days of hire, must have basic literacy, reading, and math skills. Increase or bonus may be possible depending on experience and merit.
Special Requirements
Drug screening may be done post hire at the employer's expense to ensure the safety of all workers on the farm. Failure of drug testing may result in termination of employment. Operating equipment in the field may require extensive sitting or walking. Moderate cell phone use is allowed at the worksite. Non-smoking strictly prohibited.
