Job description
Duties include All aspects of Agriculture Equipment Mechanics Listing (SOC 49-3041) Pre-season maintenance tasks will be done on machinery used for spring work. When farming duties are at a standstill and the machinery is not in use each machine will need an inspection according to the manufacturer's annual maintenance procedure that needs to be followed to ensure proper operation of the equipment during the work season. This includes tractors, semi trucks, combines, sprayers, grain carts, planters, tillage implements, and pickups. The seasonal post-harvest work process will include the disassembly and reassembly of major components for the replacement of bearings, lubricants, filters, parts, worn components, surfacing, and welding of cracks. Cleaning of each machine must be done before any maintenance work begins. Heavy lifting is required and the worker will need to lift up to 60 lbs and be able to handle tasks that require logical thought, and care. Must be able to drive to designated locations for parts needed for the equipment.
Requirements:
- Employees have valid driver's licenses or obtain one in 30 days.
- Cell phone usage is limited to business-related calls only.
- NO TEXTING.
- No smoking in equipment, vehicles, housing, or grounds.
- No drinking of alcoholic beverages during working hours and otherwise discouraged.
- Must be able to read, understand, and speak English for record keeping and safety reasons.
- No Educational level is required.
- Must have 6 months of Farm Equipment Mechanics experience.
