Job description
We operate a custom manure hauling business in Fair Oaks, Indiana. We drag line approx. 100-150 million gallons of manure on an annual basis. We start our manure hauling season in mid-March and typically apply manure to mid-December. In addition to liquid manure, we handle approx. 75,000-100,000 tons of solid manure that is applied with a solid manure spreading system. Everything we do is done in an agronomic and professional manner. Our company, Heartland Farm Services, has been drag lining manure since 2003. Primary duties for our employees would be to operate a drag line manure applicator tractor. Most of the workload for our employees will be to operate the applicator tractor in the field. Beyond that responsibility, we ask our employees to maintain the equipment they use, including routine repairs and maintenance including greasing, fluid changing, and minor repairs. This would also include cleaning equipment whenever we get the opportunity. Employees may also be required to operate the solid manure spreaders to assist in spreading solid manure to fields. This would involve all the same maintenance and cleaning responsibilities as well. Employees will need to complete routine repairs and maintenance on equipment. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer’s discretion. Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer’s discretion.
