Job description

Employees work on the transplanting machine platform and/or walk on uneven furrows behind a transplanting machine.

Employees on transplant machines:
Before the machine moves forward, the workers (employees) working on the machine platform manually load trays of product onto the transplanting machine. While seated at the waist the employees working on the platform manually pull the transplant from their tray. Then one by one the product is placed into a tube to be inserted automatically by the machine into the soil. After tray is finished employee then puts the tray off to the side and replaces is with another one.

Employees walking behind the transplant machine:
Before the machine moves forward, the workers (employees) working behind the machine platform manually load trays of product onto the transplanting machine. As the machine moves forward on uneven furrows, under the direction of the transplant machine operator, the workers (employees) walk behind the machine carrying trays of product. The workers walking behind the machine look for gaps not filled in. If there are gaps or product not transplanted correctly by the machine, the worker (employee) then bends at the waist to manually grab the product from tray or furrow. While still bent the waist the worker (employee) inserts the transplant (plants it) onto the bed to correct the action.

The machine operator will be provided by the company we are providing service for Santa Fe Nursery.
