Job description

Attend to live farm, ranch, open range, and animals that include cattle and goats. Attend to animals cows and goats in preparation and in support of animal breeding schedules. Duties will include Cows: feeding, watering, herding, milking of cows and bulls, as directed, through the late springs and early summer months. Moving bulls and cows between grazing pastures and supply food supplement as directed by veterinarian staff though late spring and Summer. Prepare cows and bulls for Fall breeding season during summer by manage grazing of breeding bulls with cows in heard in time to mate for Fall calving season. Assist veterinarian staff with calving as required and clean up from calving. Assist with new born calves and feed nutritional supplements to cows and new calves as directed through late Fall. Goats: prepare for Spring kidding season in months of including preparing does for delivery, preparing items necessary for the delivery of kids by veterinarian staff, handling and care of newly born kids, care of does after delivery. In Summer months, feeding does and grazing does after kidding and monitoring health of does and kids and reporting any health issues to veterinarian staff. Feed nutritional supplements to does and kids as directed and manage grazing by does, bucks and kids through late Fall. Prepare does and bucks for fall breeding season.

Special Requirements

Must be able to obtain a driver's license. Must be 18 years of age. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Must be physically fit to lift weight sufficient to work with required equipment to perform duties assigned and able to work in outdoors in temperatures ranging from below 32 degrees F to above 95 degrees F (typical to the area of intended employment) and to meet the requirements identified above. Employer will rely on Employer's own observations and the representations of Worker to confirm Worker meets work requirements set out in this application.
