Job description

All applicants must be able, willing, and qualified to perform the work described in this job description and must be available for the entire period of employment. Workers will perform a combination of tasks involved in the planting, cultivating, and harvesting of diversified ground crops according to the instructions of the supervisor. Workers will drive tractors, and other large farm equipment, including loaders, and skid steers and control equipment to support agricultural activities such as tilling soil; planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops; May perform tasks such as crop baling or hay bucking. Worker will also perform other duties related to planting, maintaining, and harvesting of crops. Workers will load and unload trucks and must have the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently. Workers will operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (whether on or off farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach farmer's fields); and/or transport workers to the grocery store, bank, or laundry facilities on an as-needed basis. Driver's License may be required. Work requires standing, kneeling and bending for long periods of time. Worker must be willing to work in varied weather conditions and must be available to work on Saturdays. Workers may require to work 8 hours shift within the hours of 8:00am - 8:00pm from Monday through Friday and may work 9 hours shift within the hours of 8:00am - 8:00pm on Saturdays. Beginning and ending times will vary depending on the crop conditions. Worker will be given a ½ hour lunch break and a 15-minute break in the morning and afternoon. Workers may operate stationary equipment to perform postharvest tasks such as husking, shelling, threshing, and ginning other duties as assigned. Worker must take directions in simple English.
