Job description
Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor. Duties may vary from time to time. Workers will perform manual labor. Duties include driving fence posts, building braces, stretching wire, clipping wire, hanging gates, attaching boards, cleaning up work areas, digging post holes, weed eating, mowing, minor dirt work for road repairs and erosion control. Workers will construct fences around row crop fields such as corn, cotton, soybeans, wheat, or hay. Fences will be built to mark property lines, enclose livestock, manage habitat, and to keep undesired animals or people out of certain areas. Workers will perform routine farm maintenance or general farm labor. Workers may also be responsible for giving feed to the cattle from time to time. Workers with driver's license may be asked to transport workers to/from housing to worksite or to/from the grocery store each week.
Special Requirements
Must be 18 years or older. A valid driver's license is required to drive the company's vehicles. The employer may conduct a criminal background check on all new applicants for employment, at the owner's expense. Most of the workday is spent on one's feet and outdoors. Workers may stand in one place for any period of time. Workers must be able to climb, stand, sit, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, bend (from the waist), push, pull, reach, and lift 10-100 lbs. Work is performed in outdoor agricultural fields and involves exposure to sun, wind, rain, soil, mud, dust, heat, cold, and other natural elements. Workers must be able to withstand working in the direct sunlight and weather conditions ranging from hot and humid weather, moderate rain and cold while performing their required job duties. Workers should expect periods of little/no work due to uncontrollable weather conditions. Hours and days of work may vary due to these conditions.
