Job description
Job duties include general farm work including but not limited to assisting with planting and harvesting crops, operating and servicing farm machinery and tools, repairing farm machinery, loading grain from bins to truck, delivering grain to bin or local elevator, mowing, trimming and cleaning farm yards, pumping water and weeding spray into sprayer, loading and delivering product to field (seed, fertilizer, weed spray) building and bin repairs, and assist in general labor task. Equipment that employees will operate includes but is not limited to 4-wheel drive tractors with various implements, air drills, augers and bin sweeps, tandem trucks, pickup trucks, tender trucks, combines, mowers, utility tractors, fork lift, pressure washer, rock picker, and grain cleaner. Non CDL farm trucks will be loaded with agricultural products and driven on the farm and to storage facilities. Manual duties that employees will perform includes using hand tools in fields, shoveling grain, cleaning bins, trimming weeds, cleaning equipment, loading product, and shop work. There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties and/or locations often and engage in various general functions. Daily duties may vary depending on crop, weather, and field conditions. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.
Special Requirements
Job requires having or being able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Basic English literacy and math skills are required. Drug testing and criminal check may be done post hire at the employer's expense to ensure safety on and around the worksite and to the public. Employees will be sitting long hours while operating equipment; stooping and bending while doing machine repair and shoveling grain; repetitive movements when shoveling; expose to temperatures (20 - 95 degrees) when working outside during the winter and summer.
