Job description
Employees will need to operate combines and other equipment to harvest corn, sorghum, triticale and alfalfa. Employees will then need to drive trucks to transport crops to elevator or storage areas and drive heavy trucks to transport equipment between work-sites. Driving a semi-tractor/trailer in the field hauling silage on public roads to feed-yards, storage areas and dairies. Must complete routine maintenance and repairs on equipment/trucks including blowing radiators, air filters, tires, etc. Greasing their truck or trailer on a maintenance schedule.
Special Requirements
Due to the unique nature of the work to be performed, applicants must possess six (6) months of experience in hauling grain. Will work outside in extreme temperatures. CDL license or equivalent or be able to obtain within 30 days of hire with a good driving record is required. Applicants must provide the name, address and telephone number of any previous employer being used as a reference. All references must be verifiable. Applicants must be able and contractually agree to work for the entire itinerary or, if hired after the work has begun, must be available and willing to join the crew at whatever place the crew is located at the time and remain with the crew for the duration of the custom forage/silage harvesting itinerary. Lifting requirement of 75lbs.
